• Q1 - In Sindh there is an ongoing practice called Haq Bakshish. A friend of mine was forced to do it. The family members get the girl's marriage done to the Quran to prevent her from getting married to anybody. Her sole purpose becomes to recite the Quran. They do this so the family property stays within the family. Is this acceptable as per Islamic law? Does this actually exist? And if a girl still wants to get married despite Haq Bakshish, what should she do? Can she? 

  A - There is no such a practice that exists in Islam,and yes the girl can still get married.
