Ask an Ālim

:قال الإمام أبو عبد‌الله جعفر بن محمّد الصادق، عليـهما الـسلام
مَن دَخَلَ فِي هَذَا ٱلـدِّيْنِ بِـٱلرِّجَالِ، أَخْرَجَـهُ مِنْـهُ ٱلـرِّجَالُ كَـمَا أَدْخَلُوْهُ فِيْـهِ؛ مَن دَخَلَ فيْـهِ بِـٱلْـكِتَابِ وَ ٱلـسُّنَّةِ، زَاْلَتِ ٱلـجِبَالُ قَبْلَ أن يَزُوْلَ

“Whosoever enters this Religion (ha-dhāʾd-Dīn) because of people, will be made to leave it because of people — just as they were made to enter it because of them; but whosoever enters it because of the Book of God (al-Kitāb) and the Prophetic Way (as-Sun‧naħ), mountains shall pass-and-perish before they do (i.e., their conviction)!”

Q1 - Aslam O Alaikum On 22th Ramadan's night as I awoke a person tell me that fast's time has been over but don't trust him and drank water. After drinking water I noticed that the person was right and I intended the fast immediately, but I intend it after 10 minutes after adhaan of fajar, please tell me that my fast is valid or not?

A - Salamun Alaykum. May Allah bless you and your family. You are responsible to research if the time is really over. You must keep the fast that day and make a qadha fast but there is no kaffara.
